WCF Seeks New Trustees!

Worcestershire Community Foundation has been giving out funding in the county for over 20 years. Whilst over time our work has significantly evolved, this is a pivotal time for the organisation to move forward, and we have exciting plans for future development and growth going forward in 2027.

As a relatively small organisation with limited staff capacity, we rely on the guidance and expertise of a team of ‘hands-on’, engaged and committed Trustees. Being a Trustee with WCF is so much more than a ‘paper exercise’; we expect our board to actively engage and get involved with many of our activities at whatever level.

Our aims are simple; to work with more individuals and organisations who can give their support to an increasingly at-need number of projects and community groups in Worcestershire. We aim to be part of Worcestershire’s response to emerging challenges while also supporting programmes and sustainable, proactive initiatives with longer-term impacts.

We are currently finalising a new three-year strategy, and as part of our growth and development goals, we are looking to recruit at least two new Trustees to join our Board of eight local individuals.

We are interested in applicants of all ages, from all backgrounds and walks of life; you could be an established (or retired) businessperson with a wide current knowledge of Worcestershire’s corporate sector, a charity worker or volunteer, or someone who simply wishes to give some of their time to helping others. We welcome individuals from both private and public sectors; those who have had previous experience in the charitable sector, but also those who have none. The only requirement is that you are a Worcestershire resident and have a passion for your county, your community, and for helping others. Specific skills including Business Development, IT/CRM systems or legal knowledge would be particularly interesting to help us strengthen these areas.

We welcome trustees who will contribute in their own way to the overall governance and strategy of our organisation, and who are happy to engage their networks to help promote the Foundation to increase our profile and sustainability.

If you would like further information on how to join the WCF team please get in touch, or send your CV and covering letter outlining why you think you would make a great trustee by Tuesday 3rd November to :

Lucy Wells (Director) at [email protected]/ 07909 111812.
