Our Grants

‘It is always fabulous to work in partnership with Worcestershire Community Foundation, who fully understand the local voluntary sector, how it works and who delivers what.’ Kidderminster and District Youth Trust

‘We found the application and reporting process very user friendly and the support offered has enabled us to ensure support was given to young people locally.’    The Hub Bromsgrove

‘Our involvement with WCF has been extremely positive – communication has been timely and the application process was clear.’ Wyre Forest and South Worcestershire Nightstop and Mediation Service

‘As usual the level of support we have received has always been supportive and helpful, We feel that every effort is made to help organisations with advice and guidance. Staff were very accessible and give you the time to feel heard and encouraged.’ Sandycroft

Worcestershire Community Foundation hosts a range of different funds which make awards to support local groups, community organisations and charities working to address disadvantage and respond to need in our communities.

There are two main types of funding:

Immediate impact flow-through grants, which are often national programmes. These funds are generally allocated through open grant rounds which have to be applied for, with set guidelines and deadlines.

Donor-led Funds: These are (themed) funds set up by individuals or organisations to ‘put something back’ into their communities. They are generally held within the charity’s endowment fund, which is invested for longer-term growth. The dividends raised by the investment are then distributed, usually on an annual basis, to selected organisations of the donor’s choice in consultation with WCF.

We award grants covering a range of issues via a number of different grant programmes. We pride ourselves on offering funding programmes which:

  • Are open access
  • Encourage diversity
  • Welcome both new and existing groups to apply.

Each of our grant programmes has different guidelines and requirements, so please take some time to read through them and see which programme best suits your organisation’s funding needs. It can feel like a minefield out there, so if you are inexperienced in making grant applications and need support, our team of experts is here to advise you of the best way forward and help you at every stage of your application.

We currently promote information on our programmes and other sources of funding, through Community First’s newsletter. If you would like to subscribe please click here.
