WCF Celebrates Its 20th Year!
Worcestershire Community Foundation celebrated its 20th year with an excellent evening event on Wednesday 18th October at Malvern Theatres with around one hundred people braving storm Babet to be there!
As well as celebrating 20 years of achievement, we wanted to say a big thank you to all our stakeholders and give an update on WCF’s vision for the future.
In attendance were donors, sponsors, grantees and supporters of all kinds together with our trustees, patrons, staff and our President, the Lord-Lieutenant Beatrice Grant. Short speeches were provided by Beatrice Grant, David Shaw, Chair of Trustees and Jonathan Sutton, CEO of St Paul’s Hostel. Following canapes and drinks there was the cutting of the 20th anniversary cake and the first viewing of a short video highlighting a few of the projects supported in the last year. We also took the opportunity to launch our Friends Programme. This is a membership scheme for individuals or organisations wishing to provide philanthropic support to the county. Membership contributions will go towards our endowment-based Community Fund – actively supporting a range of local projects. Members may give as little as £20 a month up to £1,000 per year. It was a fantastic event all round, providing a wonderful opportunity for people to get to know WCF better, and connect with one another. We would like to thank all those who came, our sponsors for the event enabling it to be cost-neutral, the volunteers who provided meet and greet, the team at the theatre for their support on the night and photographer, Mike Henley, who volunteered his time free of charge.
