South Bromsgrove High School raised funds for Tom Jones Fund
South Bromsgrove High School students raised £563 in support of the Tom Jones In Memoriam Fund, held by Worcestershire Community Foundation.
The school’s Charity Group raised the funds through a range of activities, including selling refreshments at their Eisteddfod and the Christmas Concert. The initiative was supported by Bromsgrove Rotary Club and BAM FM.
As part of the presentation, Ian and Vicki Jones, who established the fund in memory of their son Tom, visited the school to meet with students and share more about the purpose of the fund.
The Tom Jones In Memoriam Fund focuses on promoting water safety and providing opportunities for young people who might otherwise miss out, to take part in sport. During the visit, students heard first-hand about the impact of the fund and how their fundraising would contribute to supporting young people.
The visit also provided a valuable opportunity for students to connect their fundraising efforts with real outcomes, helping to deepen their understanding of local giving and community impact.
It is inspiring to see young people coming together to support such an important cause, while also learning more about the role they can play in strengthening their communities.
