New High Sheriff Sworn in
Maynard Burton was officially sworn in as the new High Sheriff at a ceremony held at Worcester’s Shire Hall on the 15th April. The declaration was presided over by The Rt Hon Mr Justice Choudhury.
Maynard will focus on providing support and encouragement to the offices and agencies of law and order, the emergency services, local authorities and the voluntary sector. He replaces Ian Smith, who stands down after a very successful year as High Sheriff.
The High Sheriff will be working closely with us at WCF. As managers of the High Sheriff’s Fund we will help to distribute any funds raised.
