Re-engage Befriending Services

WCF supported Re-engage’s befriending services in Worcestershire for socially isolated and lonely older people through a grant from the Strengthening Worcestershire Fund.

Re-engage reported that one man hadn’t left his house in nearly two years before attending one of their coffee afternoons. Since then, he hasn’t missed a single session. His son said Re-engage had brought peace of mind to the whole family, knowing his father was once again socially connected, supported, and not alone.

One other beneficiary said:

“Everyone I’ve met through Re-engage has been really friendly and helpful including our driver and all the people who provide a Sunday afternoon. We are welcomed inside their homes just like family. The drivers are also very pleasant and always polite, lovely people.”
