NewStarts in Bromsgrove

A Communities in Crisis grant provided funding for NewStarts in Bromsgrove to help purchase food for the food bank. This meant people referred to them could obtain food for seven days including tinned and packaged long-life food, along with fresh fruit and vegetables and staples such as butter, cheese, eggs and bread.

Marion Kenyon, Chief Executive reports one beneficiary as having said ‘I didn’t realise how much food I would be getting, thank you so much.’

One man has been helped by NewStarts on and off over the past 12 years. Having recovered from substance abuse they have provided him and his family with food support to help them through the cost of living crisis. NewStarts has become a place of safety and support for him and he often pops in just to chat with the staff and volunteers that he knows.
