Citizens Advice Worcester and Herefordshire
Citizens Advice Worcester and Herefordshire received a grant from the Strengthening Worcestershire Fund in support of their Autism CA Supported Information and Advice Service.
Anne Limbert, Advice Services Manager told us the following:
“A client attended the Aspie drop-in service. They were socially isolated, unemployed, living with parents and struggling to contribute to rent or support their daughter. The adviser referred them to the debt team for a Debt Relief Order, chased a work capability assessment and supported them to reapply for a Personal Independence Payment and a Household Support Fund voucher. This resulted in a major increase in income, meaning they are now able to contribute to household expenses and increase maintenance payments.”
One client said about the service they received:
“With having autism and ADHD I couldn’t have managed the online applications and forms without the help from CAB. The support and professionalism is much appreciated; it has helped me with getting support towards my living costs and with setting universal credit up. I would highly recommend the service and I hope it continues at Aspie.”
