UKGrantmaking 2025
Our community foundations network, UKCF, contributed to the UKGrantmaking 2025 annual publication on grant funding in the UK which found over 14,000 grant makers gave over £23 billion in 2023-24 – a 7% increase compared to the previous year.
UKCF came together with a group of collaborative partners, led by 360Giving, to provide this comprehensive overview of grant making, including Association of Charitable Foundations, ACO – The Association of Charitable Organisations, London Funders, supported by Pears Foundation and CCLA Investment Management.
The interactive platform shares data from across all funding sectors – Government, trusts and foundations, National Lottery distributors, donor advised funds and charities.
Exploring the latest data, UKCF Chief Executive, Emma de Closset, remarked:
“We welcome the latest data from UKGrantmaking, which will enable us to advocate for smarter, fairer and more sustainable practices across the sector. Collectively, over 80% of grant making by community foundations went to local or regional charities, and our members play a key role in supporting charities with less than £1m income.
“Against a background of rising demand, UK Community Foundations will work collaboratively with other funders to ensure that we maximise our support to thousands of grassroots charitable organisations across the United Kingdom.”
