What is the Worcester Community Foundation?

We are an independent charity and the Community Foundation for Worcestershire. Formed in 2003 we work to link donor funds, from individuals, families, companies and government, to Worcestershire’s diverse network of local groups. This enables us to target the money where it will make the most impact and use every penny efficiently to meet local needs.

We have built our expertise in local issues and we believe in supporting projects designed by local people, to address issues that directly affect them. Getting the community involved right from the start means that initiatives are more likely to work, and to continue and therefore change lives.

We are part of a national network of Community Foundations, one of the fastest growing philanthropic movements in the UK.

About the Community Foundation Network

Community Foundation Network, which comprises 56 local charitable foundations, is the UK’s leading organisation in revitalising local communities through effective charitable giving.

Its member organisations exist to connect those with money, with dynamic local organisations whose capacity to change lives for the better is only inhibited by a lack of money. Together, they distributed over £70 million in grants in 2009/2010 to grassroots organisations across the UK.

They are results-orientated, using their local expertise to ensure that the money invested by over 12,500 corporate, individual and public donors, as well as more than £220 million in endowments, makes the lasting difference donors want and expect.
